Hot leads for Leading British charities

Last year, EDMMEDIA generated data for three leading British charities. The data was collected through online, telephone and face to face surveys. Responders to these surveys were followed up with a telephone call and encouraged to make a regular donation through Direct Debit.

Online: Rather than employ the traditional use of a question, soliciting interest in a charity, our online approach employed the use of graphics. Prospects were shown a series of photographs and asked to nominate which cause concerned them the most. They were then asked to register their support and opt in to receiving information from charities that championed their chosen cause.

Telephone: EDMMEDIA conducted a charity survey by telephone. During the survey, we asked a series of questions that drilled down an individual's level of interest. For example:Do you support good causes?Which cause do you support? Medical, Animal, Environmental, Children, etc.Thinking about this cause, which charity do you support? Would you like to hear from [named charity] about how you could help them by making a regular gift?

Face-to-face: As part of a general street survey, members of the public were asked which charities they supported and whether they would consider supporting them on a regular basis. Those who answered positively to this question received a follow up telephone call where their answers were validated, whilst being asked for further information.

Response:The data that we collected was passed on to call centres to convert the leads to paperless Direct Debits. Response to the different files varied from 8% to 30%.
